Product Description

At just seven and a half inches across, this is a small yet striking board with miniature pieces. What is truly amazing about it is, no compromise has been made on the superb quality and attention to detail. It is all crafted from solid wood (no fibreboard or MDF has been used in any part of its production). Perfectly inlaid, each individual square has is a separate cut of wood.

Beautifully carved in the classic Staunton style, each of the pieces is crafted from solid wood and boast not only an amazing amount of detail despite their diminutive size but this set also comes with additional queens Fitted with magnetic bases, the pieces stick well to the board which has concealed metal. This is a lovely little set and would make a great gift for any chess enthusiast.

"Lovely staunton pieces on a small scale. Great for my disabled husband - not too small to handle, but small enough to pack away for travel. I like the nesting for the pieces inside the box, which folds out into a mini chess board. Magnetic pieces mean he doesn't have to fiddle with peg-board, and less likely to drop them and lose them - but the metal inside the board is well hidden, it remains a beautifully crafted wooden set and board. I'm intrigued by the two spare queens - are queens more likely to be lost or broken than other pieces?"
