This chess set combines the superb Jacob Knight Series Staunton Chessmen with a wonderful mahogany and maple chess board. The chess pieces have been expertly crafted from graded sheesham and boxwood, are double weighted and have excellent balance. They have tall and elegant proportions and have been finished off by hand with a natural polish. The uniformity of the pieces is outstanding; you would be hard pressed to find any variation in the knights and you will not find a set with better consistency for the price. A carry bag is included.

The chess board has been manufactured in Europe using sustainable plantation woods. The inlays of mahogany and maple are expertly aligned to create the checker board and then a thin layer of satin varnish seals the board from spills and scuffs.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
