Lord of the Rings figurative chessmen from Studio Anne Carlton. The set is based on specific characters from The Fellowship of the Ring feature film. Each side depicts completely different figures. White characters featured include Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Gimli, Frodo and Samwise. Black characters include Saruman, Ringwraiths, Lurtz and a variety of Orcs. The set is constructed from crushed stone and are individually painted by hand. The level of detail is incredible with each figure really capturing the essence of film character.
The set includes our Wenge and Maple deluxe chess board, produced by Rechapados Ferrer of Spain. A high grade veneer construction is used and the surface is finished in a satin lacquer. A must have for any LOTR enthusiast.

This chess set is fantastic. I am talking about the figures themselves. They are so detailed and realistic and reflect the characters from the Lord Of The Rings movie really well. I bought them as a full set with the board because they will be more than just a display piece for me. The board itself is very high quality, it said 'Made in Spain' on the box so it's going to be good quality. My only suggestion would be a board that was a bit more ornate, it's a bit plain in my view. A more exciting board would have got this review five stars instead of four.
