Metropolis Series 2.75 Inch Brass and Nickel Chess Pieces

A complete departure from the classic wooden chess piece design. Designed and fabricated by professional chess artisans from Italy. Hand turned Solid Brass and Nickel plated construction results in pieces that have weight, character and are nicely balanced in the player's hand. The design is very elegant and slender and harks back to the minimal modernist design of the early twentieth century. The pieces are fitted with red felt pads on their underside to protect the playing surface and are presented in a special cardboard presentation box, making them the perfect gift.
Although these pieces have a small King's base diameter of 0.9 inches, their slim design warrants a larger square size to counter balance this. We recommend chess boards with square sizes of 1.6 inches or above, 17 or 18 inches in length.
