Manufactured by prestigious board makers Rechapados Ferrer of Spain, this board is unique, contemporary and minimal, yet complements the traditional design of the Sentinel chessmen. The high gloss finish provides a beautifully reflective surface for these dark, polished ebony pieces.

    The Sentinel Series Chessmen represent Staunton at its best. Supplied to us by the world's finest producers of wooden chessmen there has been no compromise in the quality and finish on this set. Crafted from clean graded boxwood and black ebony wood and weighted to create just the right amount of balance, the uniformity among the pieces is superb. All four of the knights supplied are identical, each one having been carved by the same human hands. The level of detail on the knights is also fantastic, with plenty of classic vintage character.

    The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.

The product arrived right on time exactly as expected and the customer service I received was simply brilliant. I had a query regarding a suitable storage case for my set, when I called Paula very helpfully tested some fits for me and updated the website to reflect the findings. After one of the pieces was damaged (completely user error negligence) They even sent me a replacement piece free of charge, really great service and a kind response.     "*Sentinel Grand Ebony & Anegre Chess Set, 1x Large Dark Wood Case and a DGT 3000 Clock* A really high quality bundle, certainly worth the price tag, clean craftsmanship of these classic Staunton designs. The felt on the bases is affixed tidily, the weight of the pieces lends themselves to perfect balance, and the board is nicely finished in immaculate condition. Regency Chess offered fantastic service when I inquired about a suitable storage box for my Staunton pieces, when I called and spoke with Paula she even tested if something would fit my product and subsequently updated the product listing to reflect that the box takes a set with a 4 inch king set. Great turnaround time as well, item arrived exactly as described and bang on time, ordered 7am Thursday and arrived 10:30am on Friday, i'm one very happy customer. I wish that other trustpilot reviewers would take their time to actually list the product that they bought in their review rather than sounding off on what could be literally any product in their inventory. 5 Star Purchase"

    "Oh My Word! What a lovely chess set. Everything i ever wanted in a luxury set. The board is stunning in the deep black and contrasting white squares that really stand out as you can see. I like the glossy surface too. The pieces are outstanding, truly awesome craftsmanship that you seldom see anymore. The Knight's are where most people look for detail, and they are the best i could find. I'm so pleased with my purchase."
