Expertly turned Brass and Nickel plated Brass chess pieces, designed and manufactured in Italy. They are based loosely on the Staunton design that is so familiar, such as the bridled Knight yet have much more detail than is usually found on wooden pieces. They are finished in a fine coat of lacquer that protects the metal from tarnishing and really brings the collection to life, especially when presented on a glossy board.
The bottom of each piece is fitted a distinctive red felt pad, protecting the playing surface from scratches during play. Finally this collection is shipped in a special cardboard presentation box, making them the perfect gift option.
Although these pieces have a small King's base diameter of 0.9 inches, their slim design warrants a larger square size to counter balance this. We recommend chess boards with square sizes of 1.6 inches or above, 17 or 18 inches in length.
