From the late 1920s through to the 1950s was a Golden Age of Hollywood, with the end of the silent movie era giving way to big-time studios such as MGM, Paramount and 20th Century Fox. Dozens of legendary actors arose from this era, including Charlie Chaplin, Mae West, Laurel and Hardy and The Marx Brothers. The passion and glamour of these new superstar actors provided a great escape for audiences of the time, and they continue to light up our screens today with that inimitable movie magic.
