Product Description

The Garde analogue chess clock, as used in the game between Kasparov & Short in 1993. This extremely well made chess clock comes from Germany and has been built to last. It has large clear dials that measure three inches accross. A mechanical clock that requires no batteries, only the occasional wind up.

"Great craftsmanship. Pity my game isn't up to the standard of the match that made them famous."

"Traditional analogue chess clock, great German build quality with instructions, not that you really need them. Would advise letting both clicks fully unwind as soon as delivered, as they are wound tight at the factory and the prolonged tension is not conducive to a long life, but then, they are built to last. Also, depending how often you play, it might take ages for them to be unwound, so I think it's best to fully unwind them - just set them going one at a time. It will take in excess of 50 hours to fully discharge the tension. Remember - buy cheap, buy twice. Buy the best - Garde."

"In terms of look this is the chess clock, ...very tastefully done and a good size. ...I sent mine back for one reason alone, the ticking is extremely loud and for me it was too distracting. For a moment I imagined I had channelled the spirit of Bobby Fischer. So on to the excellent service of Paula and company who were happy for me to return the clock and my refund seemed to be in bank the very next day after tracking indicated the clock was safely back in their hands. Excellent service."

"Lovely chess clock. Easy to use, although I did have to look at at article online as to how to operate it as the instructions weren't too clear. I would recommend this product to everyone."
