The Classic Staunton Chess Pieces are available in three different woods. To create this set, we have use the chess pieces crafted from solid rosewood. Irrespective of whether they are the rosewood, ebonised or acacia version, the pieces offer superb value for money. The quality of wood, finish and attention to detail on these chessmen is way beyond what you expect from such a modestly priced set and the colour and grain of rosewood varies naturally so no two sets will look the same.

Each chess piece has been expertly turned and then weighted and felted with green billiard cloth on the base. The 3.5 inch king height makes them ideal for this chess board.

This 17.75 inch quality chess board is produced by the reputable chess artisan, Rechapados Ferrer S.A. of Spain. The high grade Walnut and Maple veneered construction, using modern fabrication techniques, has produced a board with clean lines and exacting detail. The Walnut grain is just sublime and a beautifully veneered wooden base completes the finish. The walnut and maple hues and grains are a perfect for showcasing these rosewood chess men.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
