Hand turned and carved from beautiful hardwoods,The Executive Series sheesham and Boxwood Chessmen are carefully matched for tone and wood grain consistency. Sheesham is also know as Golden Rosewood and although it is lighter in colour, it still has the beautiful grain effect running through it. This particular design of chess men has a a rather delicate Staunton likeness with elegant sweeping shanks. The hand carved knights have a beautifully carved mane, detailed teeth and swept back, alert ears. The king in this set is 3.75 inches (95 mm) in height with a base diameter of 1.6 inches (41 mm) therefore making the set suitable for this 19.7 inch quality chess board produced by the prestigious chess board maker Rechapados Ferrer S.A. of Spain.

High grade Walnut and Maple veneers have been used in its construction with modern fabrication techniques producing a board with simple lines and highly critical detailing. The Walnut grain of the playing squares is just superb and the board base is equally well finished, again using high grade veneer.

If and when you can drag yourself away from your set, there is this superbly constructed solid Sheesham (Golden Rosewood) chess cabinet that we have matched with the board and chess men. For when they are not in use, this storage case has a large padded & flocked compartment inside to protect your pieces and uses a traditional style sliding top lid. The lid features a sprung ball bearing mechanism which ensures the lid remains in place whilst carrying. Please note that your pieces will have to be laid down on top of one another in order to fit into this case, however, this is quite normal so do not worry. Your chess men will come to no harm as they are crafted from hard wood.

Please note that when the chessmen are placed in the box it is normal and intentional for them to lay down on top of each other. They are NOT intended to stand up inside the box.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
