Winchester Sheesham Tournament Chess Set

Classic Staunton Tournament size Chess Set that exhibits supreme quality at an affordable price. This set features our large Winchester series Sheesham chess pieces with a king height of 4 inches. The design is very traditional and authentic with large, aggressive looking hand carved knights. Each piece is double weighted and has been individually hand finished and polished. The rich yellow, green and red tones of the Sheesham match beautifully with the rich Walnut and Maple veneer board. This Board features large playing squares making it suitable for such tall pieces. However, the tight border design keeps the overall dimensions of the board to a minimum - great if playing space is at a premium. A great high quality everyday chess set that is functional and practical yet beautiful to behold.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
