I think these pieces are superb. They may not be quite tournament size or overly ornate, but the design and craftsmanship, though simple, is really lovely. They are nicely weighted, chunky pieces - like the product page said they are "designed with chess playing in mind" and that's definitely what you get. Very highly recommended indeed. Mine are sitting on the 17.75" Walnut & Maple Chess Board and imho they go very well together.
