I’m not a fan of gloss finish chess boards but this was for a 15 year old and thus entirely his choice. He can do the polishing after every match. I have to say that the photos of the standalone board absolutely don’t do it justice. Look elsewhere on the site and you’ll find it as part of a set. The photos there show off the gloss far more effectively and accurately. It’s quite compelling to look at and play on.
