Mah Jong is a popular tile game that originates from China. It has become hugely popular online as a one player game but it's also still enjoyed as a table game for four players. There are different versions of the game and a wide variety of sets on offer. The sets themselves are really beautiful things with beautifully designed tiles.

The Game of Mah Jong has not actually been around for as often as you may think it has, although older versions of the game may have been in existence in a different form for some years. Mah Jong began in China, and there’s debate as to when it began, it’s original location, and who it was who created it. Which ever way it began, it was being played in China in the mid to late eighteen hundreds, and was brought to America in the twenties. One theory places its origins during the time of the Taiping Rebellion and its originators as Chinese officers during that era. Interestingly, & quite astonishingly it was banned in China by the regime in late 1949. The People's Republic of China declared it illegal, Mah Jong and other games like it were considered by those in charge to be a representation of corruption.
