The Old English Elite Series is undoubtedly our most popular luxury chess piece series. Now available in the larger 4 inch (102 mm) king height, we have combined them with our wonderful Black and Maple Deluxe Chessboard to create a chess set of contemporary style, quality and character.

These pieces are heavily weighted and have a classic Staunton elegance that's hard to match. The board is a veneer construction, manufactured to exacting tolerances. The black printing is provided using the latest lithographic techniques which result in an ultra sharp contrast between the squares.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
