Handcrafted from solid wood and weighted for perfect balance, these Empire Knight chessmen have the look and feel of pure luxury.

The king stands at 4.5 inches and whilst quite simple in design, the sleek shank, wide base and decorative finial make up an imposing leader.

The bishop and rook too are elegantly simplistic but it is the knights that steal the show in this set. Exquisite and intricate detail in not only the mane but the bone structure and facial features make this chess piece more of an ornament.

"Certainly one of the most attractive sets available anywhere. A carefully designed improvement on the original Camarata Empire modern Staunton set, with more ergonomic pawns and rook, matching the overall styling. The knights are in a league of their own, with a detailed, almost Russian knight design.The ebony pieces are formed from top grade wood, with no open grain, and all pieces are impeccably finished and polished to the highest standard. Very pleasant to handle. Paired with a 60mm (2.375") /19 inch playing surfaced board."

"These are beautiful chess pieces. Based on the traditional Staunton look, but stripped back in design. Really elegant, and lovely to play with. They’re a great weight and feel really substantial. I have a board with 2.16inch squares and I worried they might be too big, but the board doesn’t feel crowded. For me this is the perfect set of chess pieces. Couldn’t be happier."
