Lewis chess set featuring the finest Lewis chessmen in production today (The National Museum Scotland official set) and a superb mahogany chess board that's been crafted in Spain by John Ferrer. This superb chess set combines the legendary Lewis Chessmen with a beautiful wooden chessboard made from mahogany and maple. The chessmen are a very accurate reproductions of the original Isle of Lewis figures, found on the island over 200 years ago. These superb British made chess pieces are brought to you by the National Museums of Scotland. The accuracy is stunning as they are moulded from detailed laser scans of the originals which are owned by the museum. The Lewis chess pieces have become an iconic legend and remain one of the most famous and original chess designs.

The large chessboard at just over 21 inches (55 cm) is made in Europe using sustainable woods and has a light layer of lacquer to offer protection whilst playing. The colours of both chess board and chessmen match very well and create a chess set that is both beautiful to look at and great to play on. There is little doubt that this combination of Lewis chessmen and board is the ideal partnership. Any Lewis fan is certain to fall in love with it.

"Hervorragende Qualität und wunderbares Finish beim kompletten Schachset!"

G Guenther, 1st February 2017

"I found the chess set flawless. The pieces are well made and worked in detail, their weight is nice as well. The material from which they are made feels pleasant to touch, it even smells nice. I very much appreciated how they were packed, the chess table as well, each in their own box, professionally. Thanks, to the National Museum and to the people who made this chess set and distribute it, job well done. "
