The Leningrad series comprises sets of quality large chessmen available in ebonised boxwood, acacia and anjan. These black pieces have been created with a set in natural boxwood go through a treatment called ebonisation. It's a long and painstaking process but the results are certainly worth the wait to create the appearance of ebony, without its price and also further protect the wood.
