The Madrid Series chessmen are another fine example from The Regency Chess Company. Finely crafted from graded Rosewood and boxwood, triple weighted and with a baize base, this lovely design lends slightly more detail than the standard Staunton chess sets. The double recess below the shank of each piece is highly distinctive and is one of the features that makes this set so desirable.

The knight has been expertly carved in an elegant yet aggressive pose with extremely detailed teeth and mane. The standard and quality of this set is extremely high; no compromise has been made to bring you the finest chessmen available. The proportions are good, balance of the pieces is excellent and the final polishing of the wood exemplary. A total of four queens are included and the set comes verified as a genuine Regency Chess Company exclusive product with a certificate of authenticity.

"\'Luxury\' is a fair description. The detailed carving, the curves, the style, the weight etc., all combine to make these pieces a joy to handle and add a new (for me) dimension to the game. However, be warned, for those with a weak disposition may find themselves wanting to start a collection (I wish)!"
