A very traditional chess set combination of our elegant Windsor Series Chessmen in solid rosewood and boxwood matched with this luxurious Montgoy Palisander and Maple Chess Board. The Windsor pieces are superbly proportioned and nicely weighted for their size. Hand turned and polished using natural waxes, these pieces display some of the classic characteristics of the original Staunton design, yet possess more contemporary lines and curves that bring them to life. The woods of the chess board match well with the colour of the chessmen and the eggshell lacquer improves the richness of grain. In all, a classic set that oozes quality and value.

This chess set includes a burl chess piece case with a hinged lid.

Please note that when the chessmen are placed in the box it is normal and intentional for them to lay down on top of each other. They are NOT intended to stand up inside the box.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
