Adorned with the usual brass hinges and clasps along with the screen printed oak effect playing surface and its softer, yet complementary, points in amber and cream all add to the opulence look and feel of this compact set.

Despite its smaller size, you can see that none of the details or quality is lost and overall the whole set has a look and feel of a product with a much higher price tag.

"This backgammon board is quite nice and I have had great fun playing on it with my family. However it's important to point out that this is not actually walnut or oak but is in fact just a mock wood veneer over an unknown wood type. The pattern on the playing area is just a print and not the hand-crafted inlay that the video on the website suggests. The points do not line up properly against the sides of the board. But even so the board is well made. The checkers are plastic and some had manufacturing blemishes on them which looked like scratches. But they are quite nice to play with and are not too light. The dice are good quality too. The dice cups are made from leatherette and had a very strong turpentine smell. The size of the board was good and very comfortable to play on."
